Objective-C development

Objective-C still sits inside many long-running iOS apps and system SDKs. We keep those apps healthy and bring them forward to Swift without a risky big-bang rewrite.

How we use Objective-C

An app that has earned users over many releases deserves careful handling. We audit the Objective-C code, remove deprecated APIs flagged by current Xcode versions and fix the crashes that surface most often in reports. New features are written in Swift and connected through bridging headers, so the app improves while the old parts keep working. We also write Objective-C++ bridges when a C++ library needs to be used from Swift code.

What we build with Objective-C

  • Maintenance of existing Objective-C apps
  • Removal of deprecated APIs and crash fixes
  • Swift interoperability through bridging headers
  • Objective-C++ bridges for native libraries
  • Step-by-step migration plans

Questions about Objective-C

Will Apple stop accepting Objective-C apps?

Apple continues to support Objective-C, but new frameworks arrive in Swift first. Migrating gradually keeps options open.

How long does a migration to Swift take?

It depends on the size and state of the code. We estimate after an audit and never before.
